Promos4Awareness: Hey Jordan how have you been?
Jordan Salmon: Man, I’ve been busy!

Promos4Awareness: Since the breakup of Amnesia Amnesia you seem to have been keeping yourself busy but before we get to all of that I have to ask what many people are asking. How would you rate the success of the last Amnesia Amnesia show?  Was the band pleased with it?
Jordan Salmon: Haha I knew this would come up. Last AA show was a blast. Tons of people came out.
Even more than I had expected. The crowd surfing was wicked.

Promos4Awareness: Would you care to introduce us to your new band Message Through Motion and tell us about your decision to join them?
Jordan Salmon: They’re the best guys! It was a pretty easy decision since I’ve always liked them. Being in a four piece again is going to be exciting that’s for sure.

Promos4Awareness: How did joining Message Through Motion come about?
Jordan Salmon: I had seen them play a couple shows in Belleville with my previous band, and every single time I was just blown away. For a while I was their manager because that is how much I believed and felt for their music. One day out of the blue I get a text from Derek saying that Matt quit and he was wondering if I’d consider joining and we went from there!

Promos4Awareness: When can we expect some new tracks from Message Through Motion?
Jordan Salmon: Mid June you’ll have some new stuff to hear! We’re recording at Newcomb studios and we could not be any more stoked about it.

Promos4Awareness: Any shows planed, or being looked into?
Jordan Salmon: Not at the moment. But as soon as the new set is finished, we will be playing a ton of shows.

Promos4Awareness: Are you still going to be promoting shows, or any plans to stop soon?
Jordan Salmon: I’ll probably always throw a show here and there.

Promos4Awareness: When will we get those pictures of you in leopard print done!
Jordan Salmon: Soon!

Promos4Awareness: When faced by a dangerous type of whale what advice would you give  someone who might want to to escape?
Jordan Salmon: Doesn’t matter to me. I am tougher than 70% of all whales.

The end
Hey guys,

We are writing this blog to let you know that this is the end for Amnesia Amnesia.

Amnesia Amnesia started as four dudes (Jordan, Shayne, Graham and Jason) that loved playing music and just wanted something to do. We started the band as something to keep us busy over the summer but we had no idea it was going to turn into what it did.

We met so many wicked people and bands along the road and every single one of you contributed to this life changing experience for us. We have the coolest fans in the world and are so thankful for every single one of you and we really mean that we wouldn’t have made it anywhere if it wasn’t for any of you guys.

From the time this band started up until now we have all matured as people and musicians. It is time for us to move on from Amnesia Amnesia and start other things. This is nowhere near the end for any of us as musicians. Trust us. Something big is coming.

There are far too many people to name individually and thank but off the top of my head there are a few amazing people we would like to address.

Rob Clendenning, the best promoter we have ever had the opportunity to work with.
Anneliese, greatest bunch of dudes I have ever met and wicked wicked band.
The Fallacy for making our first tour some of the best times of our lives and being the funniest dudes on the planet.
Every single one of our fans for making us the happiest guys ever whenever we played a show.
Francis Allard, coolest photographer/dude EVER. From giving us free promos to saving our asses and letting us crash at his house when we have nowhere to stay in the middle of winter, we owe a lot to that guy.

So I guess this is the end for Amnesia Amnesia. Again thank you to everyone that has helped us/hated us along the way. We always said that we love you all and we mean it.

We will be playing a final show. It will be in our hometown (Belleville) and advanced tickets will be available shortly. Parkdale Community Center, $10. We will be playing some oldies and some newer songs off of The Eating Disease so come out and have a wicked time with us. This will be the last chance to EVER see us play live.

After much confusion about the situation, I had made it down to Belleville to see Silverstein and my homeboys in Amnesia Amnesia at Matt & Joe’s (shout out to security guard Doug). The show had a solid crowd for a small town venue and was so intense that the hockey game was almost a blur to the audience.

Monday evening, Amnesia Amnesia posted a blog announcing the departure of vocalist Tyler and asking if anyone is interested in being their new lead vocalist. They will shortly be recording an instrumental of one of their new songs which will be on the album very soon at Newcomb Studios and will let everyone know when that will be posted for anyone interested in vocal tryouts. For the time being they are currently asking all inquiries to send along the following information:

New singer search.

Hey guys,

We are posting this blog to let you know that Tyler will no longer be in Amnesia Amnesia. We wish him luck in anything he does in the future and we hope the best for him.

WE WILL NOT BE DROPPING OUR FEBRUARY SHOWS. We will be playing every single one of these dates, cross our hearts! We will have a fill in for these shows, and we will announce that soon.

All of that being said, it is time to start the new vocalist search. We are recording an instrumental of one of our new songs which will be on the album very soon at Newcomb Studios and we will let everyone know when we put that up for vocal tryouts.

Until that song is up, please message us and show us previous bands you have been in if any, and hopefully we’ll set up a date to practice with you and see how things go.

This is nowhere near the end of Amnesia Amnesia, we have been through this before and it only made us better so please, remain stoked for this album.

Promos4Awareness:
Can you introduce yourself to the readers and explain your part in Amnesia Amnesia?

Shayne:
I’m Shayne, and i play guitar in Amnesia Amnesia.

Promos4Awareness:
It’s been just over a week since the release of The Eating Disease, how has that release been treating you?

Shayne:
It’s actually been amazing. We played a home town show the night after and it was probably one of the best shows I’ve played.

Promos4Awareness:
I wish I could have made it out, but I had to leave the following morning. sorry Guys!
That’s good to hear! Are you guys working on a tour to promote the new album in the new year?

Shayne:
Yeah man that would have been sick if you were there.
Yes we are, we have a few tours on the go right now and more later on in the year.

Promos4Awareness:
Who can we expect to see you guys out on the road with within the next few months, and any potential dates you can let us know of?

Shayne:
You will see us with a band called Journey To Aspen, illuminate The Sky and The Fallacy.

Promos4Awareness:
I can’t wait. Now that the second EP has been released and you are working on a tour, what can we expect next from Amnesia Amnesia?

Shayne:
Good question haha. we just plan on touring this year and working on writing a full length for the end of 2010 which then it will be recorded.

Promos4Awareness:
Good to hear, looking forward to the tour!
How has the rest of band been reacting to the success of the release of the album?

Shayne:
I think were all on the same page. Because we haven’t released anything in a long while. So i think in the back of our heads their was thought it wasn’t going to do well, people weren’t going to like it and just thoughts that come up when you think to much about it because we waited so long to release it, but we have had nothing but really good feedback on this album and it made us feel more like a band again.

Promos4Awareness:
That’s good to hear! Now it’s no secret that Amnesia Amnesia has been one of the foremost supportive bands of Promos4Awareness, and I can’t thank you guys enough for that it means a lot to me. Can we expect more work together in the near future? Maybe a Promos4Awareness and Amnesia Amnesia collaboration giveaway with autographed custom print of a shoot? :)

Shayne:
Oh dude you don’t even have to ask, we will do anything if it’s for a cause and anything for someone as great as you getting awareness around about things because if people don’t know then nothing gets done so that’s a huge yes from AA we will do alot more together. ha

Promos4Awareness:
That means a lot to me guys! Thanks so much for being a part of the team and I wish you all the best of success. Is there anything else you would like to add before wrapping up this interview?

Shayne:
Yes support your local scene, it’s not always going to be there.

Promos4Awareness:
Very true, it’s slowly disappearing! When can we see you guys next or where pick up the album?

The Bellville, Ontario boys Amnesia Amnesia have had a history with Promos4Awareness.com being featured on the website many times before. As of December 17th, 2009 they had a chance to release their second EP entitled “The Eating Disease” via FREE DOWNLOAD online. Between playing shows and photoshoots with Promos4Awareness.com Amnesia Amnesia .were busy in the summer of 2009 writing and finally heading into the studio to record “The Eating Disease” in September of ’09 in Niagra, Ontario with Mike Alsop.

I recently had a chance to catch up with Tyler for a short interview and here are the results!

Promos4Awareness:
What’s your name and what is your role in the band?

Tyler:
I’m Tyler and I sing in the band Amnesia Amnesia.

Promos4Awareness:
I heard you guys are releasing your first EP titled ‘The Eating Disease’ online for free download on December 17th, is that true?

Tyler:
This is very true.

Promos4Awareness:
Tell us a little about The Eating Disease, Where was it recorded?

Tyler:
It was recorded in Niagara, Ontario with Mike Alsop.

Promos4Awareness:
How was that experience, was it the first time you worked together?

Tyler:
It went well I would say. Mike’s a good guy and we’ve all grown to be friends with him. We got the chance to play From Man In Ghost’s last show ever with him. Those guys were amazing.

Promos4Awareness:
Haha for sure,
How would you describe The Eating Disease to someone who might not know what to expect?

Tyler:
Good question, well we hope it’ll be something a little different than what’s around right now. It’s definitely honest if anything. Something very different a step in the right directions from the first release.

Promos4Awareness:
Very true, but I am sure people are wondering, Where did the name “The Eating Disease” come from?

Tyler:
Jordan, our bass player, thought it up. I think it was just a random thought. It gave me something to aim the lyrics for is all I can say really. It’s not about anything but whatever you take from after hearing it will mean whatever you want it to.

Promos4Awareness:
Now that the first EP has been recorded and is being released as a Digital Download what is Amnesia Amnesia working on in the near future? What should we expect from Amnesia Amnesia?

Tyler:
The first EP was called Vs The Bear, this one is The Eating Disease. As for a next release, we’re writing for it now, putting the next year of Amnesia Amnesia into perspective really. We’re going to be recording an album next November in the states. Until then, we’ve talked about releasing a cover ep just at shows for fun and maybe an acoustic ep somewhere in there. We’ll be releasing two songs that didn’t make it onto The Eating Disease sometime soon in the ne year as well.

Promos4Awareness:
Any covers in mind you might want to tell us about, or are you keeping those secretive for now?

Tyler:
We’ve thrown around a few ideas, Ragdoll – Aerosmith, The Past Should Stay Dead – Emarosa, For Conditioned Voices – From Man In Ghost, just to name a few. It’s not for sure but it’s something we would really enjoy doing.

Promos4Awareness:
Sounds awesome! Well, to end this on a more personal note, what is your favorite song on The Eating Disease? And why?

Tyler:
It’s hard to say, but if I had to, I would answer it two different ways. I’d have to go with Lidless Eyes for my favourite song on the ep, it was the first song that we wrote as a band it was my favourite song to write. But by far my favorite song to play live would be Hangnails just because it’s really fun for us and it’s the song we’ve been playing live the longest.

Promos4Awareness:
And I speak from experience seeing you, it seems like the whole band’s favorite song to play for sure, so much energy! Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us Tyler: and I hope to see you guys soon again. When can people catch you on tour next, and is there anything else you would like to add?

Tyler:
Anytime dude I’m always free to talk about stuff. We’ll hopefully be on tour this February but anything can happen. A more sure shot would be to catch us cross Canada closer to the end of spring with The Fallacy. We’re in the middle of getting details figured out right now but we’re almost positive it’ll be with them!
