SXSW has added some new showcase dates to their festival. The first one announced has been March 18th 2010 in Cedar Door (Austin, Tx) featuring acts from The Ready Set, Never Shout Never, Hey Monday, and much more.

Noel Gallagher has asked  officials to allow him to appear in court in Ontario, Canada during the sentencing of the man who assaulted him on stage in Toronto during the 2008 Virgin Festival.
Guitarist Noel Gallagher (ex-Oasis) was attacked by Danny Sullivan on September 7, 2008 during the band’s performance at the 2008 V Festival. Back in November, crowd member Sullivan pleaded guilty for the attacks on Gallagher which left him with three broken ribs.

The RPM Challenge is back for it’s 2010 round. The RPM Challenge is a creative challenge offered yearly to musicians with the challenge to record an album in 28 days. RPM invites musicians to create a whole album, with a total of either 10 songs or 35 minutes play length, in the month of February. This is not a contest so there is no prizes or winners.
