A little information about the Honda Civic Tour:

The legacy of the Honda Civic Tour burns bright, and Paramore is the latest band representing the roots of the music that started it all. Since the tour’s inception in 2001, powerful acts like blink-182, Incubus, Good Charlotte, Black Eyed Peas and Fallout Boy have rocked audiences across the U.S. This year’s supporting acts include Canadian indie rockers Tegan and Sara, Civic Tour alumni New Found Glory and newcomers Kadawatha.

Today is also the day that some of us have been waiting for. Pre-orders  of the 2010 Summer Tour EP are now available on iTunes. The EP features live and previously unreleased tracks from Paramore, Tegan and Sara, New Found Glory and Kadawatha.

Gillette Uncut is a a documentary filmed by filmmaker Danny Clinch, is now available to watch online. The short documentary features appearances by many artists and just generally talking about their life as rock stars. The amount of minimal Gillette marketing makes it really just a mellow and relaxed documentary to watch. I would highly suggest taking a few minutes of your time and head on over to the website and take a look at this short film.

The fact that Mark Hoppus is in this is what caught my eye, and for that reason I watched it. It’s such an intensity and more of a “in the head of: Mark Hoppus” feel as he walks you through the headlining show in NYC on their recent comeback tour.It truly is intriguing and interesting the things that he talks about! Don’t worry skeptics it’s not mark spending about 5 minutes shaving. It’s actually pretty stunning.

Delonge and Angels and Airwaves manager Rick DeVoe do agree that the release of a free digital download will come as a financial risk, as DeLonge spent an estimated $500,000 of his own financials to finance the project. DeLonge has hopes to get the money back through corporate sponsorships, touring, merchandise, and sales of the Deluxe Edition of the album which is slated to incluve 30 minutes of exclusive bonus material.

“We’re redefining the music business,” says DeLonge, “And I honestly think we’re going to be 10 times bigger because of it.”

“When you sign with a label early in your career, it’s because they have the advantage of investing in your brand,” DeLonge says, “Now it’s changed, because the majority of the kids now get their records for free the labels don’t have money to invest.”

“Love” will be releasing the free download on Angels & Airwaves’ website, and a deluxe version of the album will also be available in stores and digital retailers, including iTunes, for about $5-$10. The release date of the deluxe version has yet to be announced or set in stone.

A feature film titled “Love” which centers on an astronaut who is stranded in a space station as the Earth collapses, will also be slated to hit select theaters later in the year, according to DeLonge. The music from “Love” will serve as the soundtrack to the film.

Angels & Airwaves partnered with Live Nation, Fuel TV, Hurley, among others, to feature the download link on their Web sites and send e-mail blasts to their customer databases. The combined lists are expected to reach about 55 million people, according to DeLonge.

DeLonge plans on distributing roughly 20 million downloads of the free album thorugh partnerships and promotions. His intention is to expose adn market Angels & Airwaves’ music to as many people as possible, which will in turn return to the band’s Modlife-powered Web site and buy merchandise. Fans will also have the option to sign up for a premium membership, which costs $6.95 per month and gives access to advance ticketing and digital content.

“If only 5 percent of that 20 million came back and interacted with the Modlife platform that powers our Web site, the revenue would far exceed anything we’d make from a major label, in any way, shape or form,” DeLonge says. “I believe that music would be like a business card that you pass out, and if people like it, they come back and buy a number of things from your band.”

Meanwhile, for Blink-182 fans this might be devistating. DeLonge stated that the Blink-182 album may be delayed until 2011 as they are currently in talks with Interscope records. You may also be able to catch blink on european festivals this summer.

The past few weeks have had a slew of rumors circulating the internet as to who would be featured on the ALICE IN WODNERLAND soundtrack (Movie hits theaters March 5th) and names were leaked. Among those names were the likes of All Time Low, Avril Lavigne, a collaboration between Mark Hoppus and Pete Wentz, and many more. As of today those rumors are marked as, well, the truth. These names will all be featured on the soundtrack along acts such as: Metro Station, Owl City, Robert Smith from The Cure, 3OH!3 , Franz Ferdinand and many many more.

At least something good comes out of another movie with Johnny Depp.

MarkHoppus (born March 15, 1972) is an American musician and record producer. Hoppus is one of the founding members of the pop punk band Blink-182 and the alternative rock band +44. He plays bass guitar and provides vocals for both bands. As of late, Hoppus has produced albums for groups like Idiot Pilot, New Found Glory, The Matches, and Motion City Soundtrack. He is known for his lower voice and, in Blink-182, usually sings either lead or provides harmony and backing vocals for fellow singer Tom DeLonge. He is also known for his concern over the environment and global warming. Hoppus has also recently worked with Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) in the studio working on a new track for the new Alice In Wonderland soundtrack.

Tom DeLonge (born December 13, 1975) is an American rock musician. He is the guitarist and one of the two lead vocalists for the pop punk band Blink-182 as well as the guitarist and lead vocalist for the alternative rock band Angels & Airwaves. In addition, he started the band Box Car Racer with his close friends Travis Barker and David Kennedy. However, both Hoppus and DeLonge sold their shares of the brand during the hiatus of Blink-182. Macbeth Footwear is a Southern Californian brand of footwear, apparel and accessories, including vegan and organic products. One of its founders is also Tom DeLonge, member of bands Blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves.

Travis Barker (born November 12, 1975) is probably the busiest of the band. An American drummer and the current drummer for pop punk trio Blink-182. He has also been a drummer for several other people including Chris Hayto. After the passing of his first punk rock band, Feeble, Barker began playing for The Aquabats in 1996 as The Baron Von Tito. He recorded one album with them, The Fury of the Aquabats!, in 1997. His career took off when he joined up with pop punk band, Blink-182 in 1998. Barker became known for his mohawk and his tendency to perform shirtless, revealing a multitude of tattoos. He founded clothing company Famous Stars and Straps in 1999 and LaSalle Records in 2004. Companies such as DC Shoes and Zildjian cymbals have co-designed products in his name.

Since the return of BLINK-182 and their tour, it’s been a while since we have last heard of Angels And Airwaves. During the Blink-182 tour TOM was still working with Angels and Airwaves and  they have finally made a splash again and have released their new single “Hallucinations” from their new album LOVE due out 02.14.2010.
