Sweet Relief: helping to raise money for Matthew Leone of Madina Lake

Sweet Relief Musicians Fund is working with Madina Lake‘s management and Pledge Music to help raise funds for Madina Lake bassist Matthew Leone.   Matthew was rushed to the hospital last week after incurring several broken bones and head trauma when he heroically intervened in a domestic dispute between a husband and wife near his home.  He is currently on the road to recovery but will need our help in order to pay the substantial bills.

Nick Moore and Before Their Eyes part ways

Yet another band are undergoing member changes and the loss of members. 2010 seems to be the magical year where bands are losing members, or simply throwing in the towel and calling it quits. The newest band to join these ranks is Before Their Eyes, who have officially announced that vocalist Nick Moore will be parting ways. Moore says it was “a mutual decision”. You can expect to see Moore in the future as is starting a new project. Before Their Eyes are slated to reveal a new frontman shortly.

My Chemical Romance SANS Drummer

My Chemical Romance have been taking over headlines with a new album anticipated for this year, and being Alt Press’ most anticipated album of 2010. But this headline of My Chemical Romance is not as happy, or encouraging as previous posts. Drummer Bob Bryar and My Chemical Romance have parted ways.

Walmart takes on LiveNation

Live Nation Entertainment has recently let the ink dry on the new deal with Walmart which will allow the megastore to sell tickets to concerts, sporting events, and community events.  
The partnership has recently been announed and details are still very minimal but ar first draft it seems to be that many locations, roughly 500, across the United States (again, not all details are available) will be selling tickets to a variety of events in their Entertainment Department. My Chemical Romance forced to drop Soundwave Festival

My Chemical Romance have been forced to cancel their appaearance at Soundwave Festival this year in Australia. This incident is due to Gerard Way being diagnosed with “Throat Problems”.
An official release was issued stating the following from guitarist Frank Iero “While in the studio recently, Gerard started having some problems with his voice,” “At first we weren’t too concerned about it and thought it would pass, as these things usually do, but the longer it went on the more worried we all got so he went to see the doctor.”

Metallica Speak Out About Fan’s Body Found

A Virginia resident was reported as Missing after a Metallica concert in October of 2009, and her body has recently been found. Metallica have released a message in response to the discovery of missing fan Morgan Dana Harrington’s body, and can be seen below.

Korn Zombies Invade The 2010 Rockstar Mahyem Festival

The lineup has been announced for this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival featurings acts by: Korn and Rob Zombie. Atreyu, Norma Jean, Shadows Fall will also be along fore the North american venture which kicks off July 10th in San Bernardino, California, running through to late August with stops in over 20 cities along the way.
Pre-sale tickets will also be available to the public as of April 2nd, with general on-sales beginning April 16th.
