Promos4Awareness has been getting a lot of requests from individuals wanting to photograph for the site, and, I said yes. So within the next little while you will be seeing many new photographers contributing work to the website! With a expanding website and a growing fanbase, I can’t think of a better way to thank them than to display their works of art directly on the site for all to see.

So, please welcome our newest contributing photographer Nathan Price!

I’m a young photographer, currently studying at Georgian College. I’m into portraits, events, weddings, anything involving people really! I try to get really personal with every photo I make, really show personality in everything.

King Cobra, Set Anchors, and Dancing With Paris In Ajax! (Wrap Up)

Recent King Cobra tour which brought us supporting bands, Set Anchors, and Dancing With Paris DESTROYED ajax at hands down the best TOP SHELF show I have yet to have seen. This stop on the tour also featured Of Soldiers And Saints, Longshot, and Falling Forward.

This show, was to say the least, outstanding. The talent and musicianship, as well as camaraderie. These bands were on tour for roughly a week, and it seemed like a huge family that formed in so little time. From the show a mere few days earlier (June 30th @ Toronto: Seen here) to the show that invaded Ajax showed leaps and bounds of camaraderie in the bands.

It was great to see all the bands again, and i wish DANCING WITH PARIS and KING COBRA the best of luck on their EAST COAST tour starting in just a few days! Check their MySpace pages for details! Also, thanks to all the friends who I got to see, its been way too long for some of you!

Sadly, this show came with sad news. Dancing With Paris announced that guitarist Frieday will not be pursuing with them, and the tour will pursue on without him. He will be missed, best of luck to that guy, he is a great dude and it’s been a pleasure, but I am sure we wil expect to see him around still!

The Clay Hands Photo Shoot – Wrap up

After a busy saturday with a lack of sleep there was a rough sunday to follow. Following a well deserved two hour nap, I got together with a friend i work with and did a quick photo session after about two months of not having the time to and not having the shoot booked. Well, Sunday we got around to it and here are some of the shots!

Josh and Cassy are in a band called THE CLAY HANDS and you should surely check them out!

Dexter Photo Shoot Wrap Up

A longtime friend of mine (since we were basically like 1 year olds) contacted me a few days ago with a idea in mind and a vision to help promote some artists in the Durham Region/GTA and has been seeking some of my help and services. Expect big things to be coming to the music scene real soon!

With the launch of the new project Dexter wanted to get some shots taken to help promote the release. Since the site is still in the works and nothing is final, I thought I would only give you a small sample of what we can expect from this man and GET IT IN TV once it has been released!

Ryan Chung Photo shoot Wrap Up

Ryan Chung and I have worked together before. He’s a good man and he is always willing to take a few quick snapshots. This man has a pure heart of gold and he will help anyone in need as long as it’s within his powers. And if it’s not, he will find a way to get it done. After a short message on facebook asking me to a do a photo shoot we looked at about 2 or 3 themes and found the one that needed to be done. Ryan believes in the word of Christ and is christian. Therefore I saw a shot of a hitch hiker looking for a ride to LA. After a few second of brainstorming I thought, why not get Ryan into hitch hiking his way into heaven? You will also see Ryan sitting on the couch with a glass of APPLE JUICE representing how alcohol can often be an escape from reality, and how it can also be a devastating reminder of your personal life.

Christianity:

What do Christians believe? Answering that question is no simple matter. Christianity as a religion encompasses a wide range of denominations and faith groups, and each subscribes to its own set of doctrinal positions.

A small number of faith groups who consider themselves to be within the framework of Christianity, do not accept some of these beliefs. It should also be understood that slight variances, exceptions, and additions to these doctrines can exist within certain faith groups that fall under the broad umbrella of Christianity.

Alcoholism:

The term “alcoholism” refers to a disease known as alcohol dependence syndrome, the most severe stage of a group of drinking problems which begins with binge drinking and alcohol abuse.

Alcohol problems occur at different levels of severity, from mild and annoying to life-threatening. Although alcohol dependence (alcoholism) is the most severe stage, less severe drinking problems can also be dangerous.

In Sepia – Photoshoot Wrap Up

TABITHA AND THE AMAZING PEOPLE IN IN SEPIA! THANK YOU!

These people were amazing enough to make a trip down from Ottawa to take some promos with me for Promos4Awareness! These are the most amazing individuals for having done so! I can’t thank them enough. They had spent the previous night in Cobourg and after a lot of confusion with the whole situation, we had finally got the chance to meet up and get these promos nailed down!

In Sepia is a sextuplet band out of Ottawa, Ontario, blasting our ears with some progressive/metal/hardcore tunes from the dirty undergrounds. Consisting of: Tabitha Grove (Microphone); Gabe Grove (Lead Guitar); Will Long (Second Guitar); Chase Patterson (Bass Maestro); Matt Freak’n Berry (Keyboards, Samples); Clyde Henderson (Drums) they combine their melodies and sounds to create some music for our enjoyments.

In Sepia decided to shoot some promos dedicated to help raise awareness about depression. This issue affects thousands of youths and millions of people around the world daily, for a variety of reasons. Most people do not know how to cope with it, and the issues can often be ignored and carefully hidden from their peers. Some people say that depression feels like a black curtain of despair coming down over their lives. Many people feel like they have no energy and can’t concentrate. Others feel irritable all the time for no apparent reason. The symptoms vary from person to person, but if you feel “down” for more than two weeks, and these feelings are interfering with your daily life, you may be clinically depressed.

If you are a youth and in need of some help, please reach out to your peers or check out the information available on this website! THERE IS HOPE!

ARADD: Photoshoot Wrap Up

It seems like it has been a while since I have gotten behind that lense and have created some spectacles for your eyes to see. To no adew, it was a long awaited photoshoot in the morning hours with a new band I would like to welcome to the Promos4Awareness family. After a little hiatus it was time to get back into the swing of things, and it was time to pick up where I had left off. I was contacted by a metal/hardcore band from Pickering, Ontario which were the nicest bunch of guys to work with.

I would like to welcome to the Promos4Awareness family: ARADD (Metal/Hardcore – Pickering, Ontario)

ARADD is a 5 piece metal band from Pickering Ontario. The band consists of Lead Vocalist Dylan Cooper and Drummer Michael Cernigliaro of To Hide Scars With Lies, Arcadia Lead Guitarist and vocalist Mason Milner, Michael Pupunkoski on rhythm and Justin Anderson On Bass.

Shoot Jounal:
After a early morning wake up and shower I was out the door and headed to the shoot. Headed over to the drummer’s house (Mike) and waited for the rest of the band to meet up with us (Plus two amazing dogs to pet!). Once the band all coagulated in the front entrance we headed out on a short stroll to the super-top-secret-amazing-epic-location for the photo shoot we had planned out. A quick walk through what seemed to be the largest forest in the world and we were ready to shoot.

We Are Alaska Photo Shoot

Today I did some promos with We Are Alaska since their lineup has changed. With the departure of their drummer (and being replaced by their new drummer Apple iPod) it was an opportunity to get together again and do a quick photo shoot. So, we got together an yet another cold day in this strange winter we have been having, and did a quick photo shoot.

The theme came to me as I awoke in the morning with the idea of picture frames.So I headed on to the flea market and bought a lot of really cheap picture frames and hung them off a tree and then we had some fun. Throw in a few lollipops (for Sai, since she has a lollipop at all our shoots!) and there you have it. A surreal “avant garde” photo shoot. Or at least that’s what we called it.
