A Day In The Life: Tyler Jones (August 1st 2010)

August 1st 2010 marked To Tell The Tale’s EP Release Show, and IN LIGHTS; to many people’s confusion, had the honor of headlining the show.
Before I go any further i’ll introduce myself.
I’m Tyler Jones. If you didn’t know already I play drums in IN LIGHTS. I’m going to be posting on P4A whenever I have something worth talking about. I may not always talk about something original or something that necessarily hasn’t already been spoken of already; but hopefully my personal point of view will catch your interest. This is …

To Tell The Tale CD Release Show (Wrap Up)

Promos4Awareness was pleased to sponsor the TO TELL THE TALE CD Release Show, hosted at the Top Shelf, in Ajax Ontario. All in all, a Durham Region spectacle was had to say the least. With the introduction of the band Bathurst blessing the show, and a rare appearance of Kid Stallion, it was nothing to be forgotten.Let us not forget the great performances by Unit Thirty Three, and Like Pacific. Both bands put on a great set and deserved the spot on this bill. A perfect addition to a pop punk …

Rage Against The Reunion (immigrants benefit show at the Palladium on July 23)

According to the LA Times, Rage Against The Machine are playing a reunion/benefit show on July 23rd at the Palladium.
Arizona’s loss is Los Angeles’ gain in live music, apparently: Rage Against the Machine and Conor Oberst have just announced a one-off show at the Hollywood Palladium the Sound Strike’s boycott of Arizona in the wake of the controversial SB 1070.
The concert will raise funds for a number of immigrant-activist organizations, including the community organizing group Puente, Arizona and the Florence Project, which provides legal counsel and …

King Cobra, Set Anchors, and Dancing With Paris In Ajax! (Wrap Up)

Recent King Cobra tour which brought us supporting bands, Set Anchors, and Dancing With Paris DESTROYED ajax at hands down the best TOP SHELF show I have yet to have seen. This stop on the tour also featured Of Soldiers And Saints, Longshot, and Falling Forward.
This show, was to say the least, outstanding. The talent and musicianship, as well as camaraderie. These bands were on tour for roughly a week, and it seemed like a huge family that formed in so little time. From the show a mere few days …

On display was; Sleep When You’re Dead, Of Soldiers And Saints, Cederdale, Know Where You Stand, and to headline the show the band everyone came to see As You Like Me.
I would first like to start not by reviewing and talking about the bands, but the people attending these shows. The last few TOP SHELF shows have had …
